April Offerings

Isn't it nice to say that it is April? It makes me think of springtime and flowers!

Starting in May, my offerings will be listed at 8:00 am here on the 1st of the month. Thanks for always stopping by Early Work.  The friendships I have made here truly are a blessing to me.

Mama Bunny

Mama rabbit is holding her little baby bunny.  

She is wearing a dress with a bow made from early blue calico.  

Her arms and legs are sewn into place. She is holding her little baby.  Both have stitched faces and flax whiskers. She is about 11″ tall, and slightly weighted on the bottom with walnut hulls.

Garden Rabbit

Rabbit is wearing an apron made from an early quilt. 

She is 8″ tall, weighted slightly with walnut hulls. Her features are stitched and applied, flax whiskers, and needle felted sheep wool tails, both of which are sourced locally.  The inside of her ears are an old brown fabric.

Miss Rabbit is holding a large radish made from early red calico, with vintage green fabric leaves.

Made from natural grain sack. Sweet hand stitched patch made from early fabric.  Measures 7"x8", not including the hanging loop.  The backside is unbleached natural osnaburg.  Beautiful texture.

"I wear your heart around my neck" Primitive Rabbits ~ BOTH SOLD

I have two large primitive rabbits that have a valentine (removable) around their neck, and also wearing an early fabric necktie.

They are 12" tall, have a stitched face, flax whiskers, and a needle felted wool tail. Weighted lightly for easy standing. The red heart has an early quilt patch and "love" patch hand stitched on to it.

February Update

"Heart equals love!" That's what my daughter always said when she was a little one.

 (....I may have to make one of these for me saying just that!

This pincushion heart is made from early homespun fabric.  

I have appliqued flowers made from a very lovely old velvet.

And a bumblebee, made from old little bits of fabric, wrote out the way way we all feel about love...."truly"

Rabbit on Snowball Make-do (SOLD)

December 1st!  Here we are already.  I have 3 offerings for you tonight all with a snowy theme.  I really love snow in December.  I'm sorry about the picture quality, I have been getting ready for a show and had to take these quickly this evening and will try and fix them in the morning.  I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving and are looking forward to the Christmas season as much as I am.  Thank you always for stopping by and visiting the wonderful artists here on EWM.  Wishing you and your families a very happy Christmas full of love and happiness.

Sitting upon a snowball made from vintage wool with a snowflake stitched on the front, rabbit has a hand-stitched face with flax whiskers and needle-felted sheep's wool bunny tail.  Her ears are lined in brown calico with little blue polka dots

12" tall and attached to vintage glass candle stick.  The above picture is the true color of the snowball.  Little rabbit wears a wool blue scarf, and is holding a vintage Christmas bulb.

Bunny has stitched face with flax whiskers, calico lined inner ears, & needlefelted sheeps wool bunny tail.

She is holding a strawberry made from vintage red velvet and wool green cap. 6" tall.

Gusseted and weighted for easy standing.

Her tufted pincushion is made from two overdyed wools...the top is a flax color and the bottom antique pink. All are lightly stained

In the center is an early bone button.  It is a little over 5" across, and 2" tall.

Together the whole set is slightly over 8" tall.

This is an original piece, and bunny will be signed and dated.

Rabbit Pincushion Sets ~ Both are Sold, thank you.

 This month I am offering two different bunny pincushion sets....one in blue and one in green!

~~~BLUE SET IS SOLD~~~

The first in blue is 7 1/2" tall sitting on top of pincushion. 

 He has a stitched face, flax whiskers, vintage velvet inner ears, and a needle-felted sheep wool tail.  In his arms is a big blueberry which is made from blue vintage velvet.

The pincushion is made from one of my favorite blue calicos.  It is 5" across.  The pincushion is stuffed with clean sawdust and fill, and has an early bone button in the center.

  

Mr. Rabbit is not attached to the pincushion and is weighted to stand alone (6" tall by himself) if you choose.

The green set has a little rabbit with a stitched face, flax whiskers, brown homespun lined inner ears, and a needlefelted sheep wool tail.

She is attached to a green pincushion tuffet made from vintage velvet, and filled with clean sawdust and fill.  (Alone the rabbit and pincushion stand 4" tall.)

It sits very nicely on top of a box covered in a lovely green distressed calico.  This is 4" across.

The total height of this piece is 6 1/4" tall.

Both of these pieces are a Rabbit Hill Primitives original design.  They will be signed and dated.

Folky Rabbit Keepsake Box Set ~ SOLD

My favorite things to create are pincushions and bunnies and I have both to offer this month.

Tiny rabbit has a stitched face with flax whiskers and a needle felted tail. 

She is attached to a small oval-shaped pincushion made from a reddish-brown antique reproduction calico.  The seams have been stitched over.

It sits very nicely on top of the box which is covered with a primitive textured homespun fabric.  It measures 5" x 3 1/2" and is 2 1/4" tall.

 The total height of the entire piece is 7" tall.

 This is a Rabbit Hill Primitives original design.  It will be signed and dated.
