~Happy Pumpkin Girl~ SOLD

She has a twinkle of joy!
Maybe because autumn is finally coming.
She is dressed in browns and blue. Her patch is early calico. And under her dress, she is wearing bloomers.
Her shawl is hand-knitted with an antique button attached. It's color is brighter here, true color is more of a gray-blue almost like in the last picture. I could not capture it in with the lighting today.
She also has a little vintage button on the back of her dress to gather.
Holding a little fabric pumpkin, she is 15" tall including her real pumpkin stem.  She stands on a wooden base.
One of a kind, and she is signed.

$88.00 includes priority mail shipping ~ She is sold, thank you!

~"Autumn Wash Day" Textile Folk Art~SOLD

This little piece was inspired by my weekly bedding wash day.  The only thing that I always hang on the line.  Who doesn't love the smell of fresh laundered quilts and sheets that have dried in the sunshine?

This is hand-stitched and primitively made using early bits and pieces of quilts and old textiles appliquéd together.
Everything is pieced together on a vintage fabric and then sewn onto an early piece of quilting
I loved the backing from this old cutter quilt which is a pretty piece of indigo blue homespun used to frame the picture.
I have added a sleeve on the back for hanging, or you use it as a candle mat.

 It measures 9 1/2" x 7"

There are many stitches in this little primitive piece.

It is an original and one of a kind piece made with lots of love.  It will be signed and dated

$53.00 includes priority mail shipping ~ this is sold, thank you!

choose joy!
Happy  Day!
A day to leave a bouquet of flowers for neighbors and friends.  With so many spring blossoms blooming, it really is a joyful time of the year.

I have one offering this month, it was inspired by the blooms in my front garden...tulips, just starting to bloom, snowflake flowers, and spring daffodils. I've also added a touch of blue here and there for the many forget-me-nots that find their way to just the right spot in the garden.

Take a look below, and if interested, please email me at:

Thank you always from the bottom of my heart.
Be safe, be well, and be happy!

"Pitcher Full of Happiness" Textile Art

A fresh bouquet of flowers cut from my garden and placed in an ironstone pitcher. It is entirely hand sewn and primitively made using early bits and pieces of old textiles to make something new and pretty.

If your visiting for the first time, I have been creating these kinds of pieces for as long as I can remember.  I call them cloth paintings.  Because of the age of the fabric, some places are a little tattered.  I find that charming but wanted to make sure that you noticed.

This piece was made with lots of love and little stitches.  It is backed by a vintage piece of natural textured fabric cut from a bolt that I found at a local estate sale. I have also added a sleave so that you may hang this with a dowel if you choose.

It is larger than most of my pieces,12" wide x 15" long.

All of these types of pieces are made one of a kind. Thank you always.

"Early Spring Garden" Textile Art

Inspired by my back garden, this is hand-stitched and primitively made using early bits and pieces of quilts and old textiles appliqued together to make a picture, like a cloth painting.  It's my very favorite thing to create!  Tattered and torn in some places because of the age of the fabrics.
Of course, there are snowdrops, always snowdrops in March.  Little flowers that bring us lots of hope and happiness.
And cardinals at my feeders.  They are such a bright spot in the gray early days of spring.
I needed to include a little Iris...
She's my little black and white kitty sitting by the garden gate.  I always call this her "I want in, I want out" month because she knows spring is coming but doesn't realize how cold some days can be and can't decide where she wants to be!
This piece was made with lots of love and many stitches.  It measures 8" x 10" for easy framing if you like. I have sewn around the edge to prevent it from fraying.

SOLD ~ Thank you
$98.00 which includes priority mail shipping and handling

Father Christmas and White-Tailed Deer

An old soul. Always my favorite type of Santa to create.
Lots of time and details in this pair.

Santa is dressed in a gray wool coat, adorned with antique quilt batting. His hood is lined with early homespun, which has two rusty bells attached. His needle-felted beard is wool sourced from a local farm.

Santa is 11" tall, gusseted and weighted with walnut hulls.  He is holding a branch of blue-berried preserved cedar that came from another local business here in PA.

Santa's white-tailed deer is my rendition of one of of the many that roam the gardens in summer, and sleep in our side yard in the winter. He is 6 1/2" tall and 8" long.  His antlers are from an old mulberry tree.
His coat is the same gray wool and antique homespun as Santa's.  He wears a rusty jingle bell collar.

They are sold ~ thank you!
This set is $159.00, which includes priority mail shipping.
