~Wool Birds~

Made from wool, they have french knot eyes, attached nose and wings, and rusty wire feet.  

4" tall and 5" long.

Please specify which you would like when ordering.

 #1 (above) is a pretty gray wool that has a slight greenish tint.

#2 (above) is made from a lovely tan wool.

and #3 (above) is from a gray stripped wool.

~Sewing Sets~

 I love making these little sets. Both inside and out are made to look old and comes with a few vintage pins. Please specify which you would like when ordering. 

The first one is a round red calico cloth covered box with a tomato made from vintage red wool.

Box is 4" by 2 1/4" tall.  Tomato is 3" by 2" tall

Next is a brown antique reproduction calico covered oval box.  The strawberry is a made from an aged cream colored wool.

The inside lid is covered with a scripture from Genesis, 1:11-12 "Then God said, "Let the earth sprout vegetation: plants yielding seed, and fruit trees on the earth bearing fruit after their kind with seed in them"; and it was so.  The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit with seed in them, after their kind; and God saw that it was good." 

 

Box is 5" by 3" and a little over 2" tall. Strawberry is 3 1/2" long not counting wood stem.

Strawberry Seeds Pincushion Set ~ This is Sold

This pincushion is made to look like a vintage seed pack of Strawberries.  I LOVED making this.  I have a few others started (different ones, not strawberries) and would have had those to offer also if I didn't get myself in a poison ivy patch gardening!!  They will be coming soon on my website ;)

Stitched on a vintage piece of fabric are two strawberries made from the prettiest early red calicos.  Their caps are also old calico but not early, probably from around the 1930's.

 "Strawberry" and "Everbearing" lettering is hand-stitched to look like an old font. 

It is backed by a fun vintage quilt piece.  Lightly stained and filled with cleaned sawdust, it measures 6" by 5".

Also included is an old pin that I covered with vintage red velvet to look like a strawberry (green wool cap).  It's 4" long.

Bunny has stitched face with flax whiskers, calico lined inner ears, & needlefelted sheeps wool bunny tail.

She is holding a strawberry made from vintage red velvet and wool green cap. 6" tall.

Gusseted and weighted for easy standing.

Her tufted pincushion is made from two overdyed wools...the top is a flax color and the bottom antique pink. All are lightly stained

In the center is an early bone button.  It is a little over 5" across, and 2" tall.

Together the whole set is slightly over 8" tall.

This is an original piece, and bunny will be signed and dated.

Blue Valentine Keepsake Box Set ~ SOLD

 

One of my most favorite things to create are these little keepsake box sets.

I have two to offer you this evening.

The little heart shaped box is covered in prettiest blue antique reproduction calico.  (My pictures are a little dark, so please email if you would like additional pics of fabric.)

 It measures 3 1/2 in. by 3 1/2 in. and 1 1/2 in. high.

The little heart pin cushion has a little patch with a tiny vintage velvet heart sewn on.  

 It can sit on top or will tuck right inside. 

The heart is made from a nubby woven linen homespun with seams stitched over and filled with batting.

 The total height of the entire piece is 3 1/4" tall.

 

 This is a Rabbit Hill Primitives original design and will be signed and dated.

Velvet Rabbit Keepsake Box Set ~ SORRY THIS IS SOLD~

A sweet little rabbit made from vintage velvet with calico ears, stitched face and needle felted wool tail.  He measures 3" long and is almost 3" tall to the tip of his tail.

Also included is a heart shaped box that has been covered in a lovely brown calico.  The lid can be used as a pincushion.  Measures 3 1/4" by 3 1/4", and is 2" tall.

Keepsake Sewing Box Sets w/Velvet Bird & Pincushion ~ Both SOLD ~

These are still one of my most favorite things to make.  I just love working with all the pretty fabrics and textures!

Today I have two little boxes to offer you.

One in blues....

and one in brown...

They are each covered in antique reproduction calico.

Both come with a little bird made from the best vintage velvet...the darker one is blue and the other is tan.

And a little pincushion that can sit on top or be tucked inside.

They measure 4" across and are 2" tall without the pincushion and bird.  Total height is 6" tall with the pincushion and bird on top.

All have been distressed and have little fixes and stitches here and there to look older.

These are my own simple design and will be signed and dated.

Vintage Velvet Acorns Pin Cushions

While in Lancaster this summer, I found a small bit of lovely vintage brown velvet.  Always a delight to find old velvet!

I'm so pleased with these acorns. (see also the pretty acorn make-do listed this evening) 

The acorn caps are made from wool and filled with clean sawdust.

These pin keepers measure 6" long not counting the twig stem and are 4" wide.  Each comes with a few old pins.
