~ Winter Sheep~

This has been something I've been thinking about making for awhile and finally got to it.  I've made a few for a Christmas show coming up and thought I would offer one here. 

He is 6 1/2" long and 5 1/2" tall

 Sheep's face is stitched.  He has a coat of old quilt batting. His blanket is a little scrap of early homespun linen.

~Old Shepherd and his Sheep~

This primitive olde shepherd is 10" tall not counting his staff.

He has a stitched face, needle sculpted nose, and felted beard.  His coat is wool and his clothes are brown textured fabric.

His little sheep's body is made from old wool, with a sheep wool coat needle felted on.

~Wool Birds~

Made from wool, they have french knot eyes, attached nose and wings, and rusty wire feet.  

4" tall and 5" long.

Please specify which you would like when ordering.

 #1 (above) is a pretty gray wool that has a slight greenish tint.

#2 (above) is made from a lovely tan wool.

and #3 (above) is from a gray stripped wool.

~Sewing Sets~

 I love making these little sets. Both inside and out are made to look old and comes with a few vintage pins. Please specify which you would like when ordering. 

The first one is a round red calico cloth covered box with a tomato made from vintage red wool.

Box is 4" by 2 1/4" tall.  Tomato is 3" by 2" tall

Next is a brown antique reproduction calico covered oval box.  The strawberry is a made from an aged cream colored wool.

The inside lid is covered with a scripture from Genesis, 1:11-12 "Then God said, "Let the earth sprout vegetation: plants yielding seed, and fruit trees on the earth bearing fruit after their kind with seed in them"; and it was so.  The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit with seed in them, after their kind; and God saw that it was good." 

 

Box is 5" by 3" and a little over 2" tall. Strawberry is 3 1/2" long not counting wood stem.

November Offerings

Welcome November!

Pennsylvania Wild Turkey ~ Sorry he sold ~ Thank you!

Every day I see five or six wild turkeys walking past my studio window. One tom and a few of his lady friends!  I really wanted to make my own interpretation of a wild turkey.   I was little obsessed with it, as if they were flaunting me into doing it!  That's what happens when you work from home, your animals start talking to you

My wild turkey has wing feathers, a tail feather, beard, and wattle. His eyes are large french knots.

He is made from osnaburg, free standing, and has lots of hand stitching.  

 He stands just under 10" and is 11" long.  

"Wild Turkey" is my original design and will be signed by me.

Old Man Winter~ both are sold ~ thank you!

I have two finished "Old Men" available today.  

One dressed in a brown coat and the other in a blue/gray colored coat.

They have stitched faces and needle sculpted crocked noses.  Their beards are needle-felted sheep's wool.

Their bodies are filled with rags and fill.    They measure 11" tall and have loops on back for hanging. 

"Old Man Winter" is my original design and will be signed.

Santa and his little Lamb ~ SOLD

This Santa is dressed in browns....his coat is wool.

His face was lovingly stitched...I really like his expression and personality!

Sheep's wool beard and hair are needle felted.

His little lamb is made from wool that was found lined inside an old quilt.  I needle felted a little sheep's wool on top of that.  She's very sweet.

Santa measures 17" tall. Is filled with rags and fill, and has a loop for hanging if you please.

 "Santa and Little Lamb" are my original design and will be signed.

Little Pumpkin Mouse Cottage ~ SOLD Thank you!

This little mouse cottage is a new version for this year.  I really really love the way it turned out....I decorate with lots of browns and whites, so this one is very dear to my heart!

 Made from various wools, osnaburg, and an old shoe button door knob.

Little mouse has stitched eyes & flax whiskers.  She is wearing a little wool shaw to keep the chill off her shoulders.

Beside the door of her white pumpkin cottage she has a few little wool pumpkins herself.

Mouse is attached to the pumpkin and total piece is 8 1/2" tall.

I really enjoy making these every year.  You will never see the same one twice!

This one is a bluish gray pumpkin.  Made with various materials....homespun, osnaburg and wool, and an old shoe button doorknob.

Lots of handstitching and details.  This one has a black cat sitting in the window; a bittersweet vine growing up the side; and a few wool pumpkins next to the front door.

It has a worn feel a wonderful aged look.

Even prettier in person.  I want to live in one of these I think!

It is 8" tall including the stem.

Jack O'Lantern Owl ~SOLD Thank you!

Happy October!  I can't even believe it's here.  This month I have a few pumpkiny offerings for you! 

This little owl is perched on top of Jack O'Lantern.

Made from various materials....old wool, old buttons, osnaburg, weavers cloth, flax, and twine. 

They are sewn together for a total height of 14" tall and 8" wide.

Base of pumpkin is slightly weighted for better stability.

This is an original Rabbit Hill design, and will be signed and dated.

For August I have a few pumpkin head girls for you.

The first doll is a standing doll. She has a gusseted weighted bottom. She is 11" tall from the top of her twig stem.

Dressed in a very primitive brown flannel dress with a wool shawl drapped around her shoulders to keep the chill off while she collects her bounty.
