Both of these mice have french knotted eyes, flax whiskers, and ears lined with old tan velvet.

They are approximately 6" tall.   

Each are dressed in wool coats with old buttons and wool scarves.  They are carrying a little pumpkin made from an old vintage orange velvet.

~Pumpkin Head Doll, Esther~ SHE IS SOLD

Esther is a large pumpkin head doll.  She has applied wool eyes and nose and a stitched mouth. 

 

 Her stem is the top of a baby pumpkin with some applied wool leaves around it. Her head is orangish like the picture above.  We've had some rain here and I was unable to take pictures of her outside.

24" tall and heavy filled, you just want to hug her!

October Offerings

How can we be in October already?  I don't know when summer became fall but it has.  Just this evening we've had a lovely cool rain that made everything smell like autumn with just a hint of smoke from my neighbor's wood burner stove.  I am so in love with this season.

Tonight I have two pumpkin cottages to offer this month.  One is the Blue Pumpkin house (sold), which was inspired by the color of drying hydrangea blossoms.  The other is the Pumpkin Farmhouse (sold), inspired by my favorite pumpkin farm in Ohio. 

All pumpkin cottages are made from various materials....homespun, wool, osnaburg, with lots of hand-stitching and details.  The door knob is an antique shoe button, and you'll always find a little black kitty looking for somewhere to hide.  They are lightly stained over for a more primitive worn look.

White Pumpkin Jack Make-do ~ SOLD

 

Jack-O-Lantern is made from painted and aged white osnaburg.  He is attached to a vintage glass candlestick.

Jack's eyes and nose are wool, with all features being hand-stitched.

He is 9" tall not counting his wood stem.

Wee Pumpkin Folk ~ SOLD

Little orange-headed pumpkins are made from aged and painted osnaburg.
Each have stitched faces with their own personality.  

I have a boy and a girl available.  They are just 7 1/2" tall not counting their folky grapevine stems. Their bodies are one solid piece for tucking somewhere special or hanging.

 

Girl pumpkin head is wearing a skirt made from vintage velvet, early scrap for shawl, with an old shoe button.  

 

Little boy pumpkin is wearing black overalls, and early scrap for kerchief.

Pumpkin Cottage ~ SOLD Thank you!

I really enjoy making these every year.  You will never see the same one twice!

This one is a bluish gray pumpkin.  Made with various materials....homespun, osnaburg and wool, and an old shoe button doorknob.

Lots of handstitching and details.  This one has a black cat sitting in the window; a bittersweet vine growing up the side; and a few wool pumpkins next to the front door.

It has a worn feel a wonderful aged look.

Even prettier in person.  I want to live in one of these I think!

It is 8" tall including the stem.

Jack O'Lantern Owl ~SOLD Thank you!

Happy October!  I can't even believe it's here.  This month I have a few pumpkiny offerings for you! 

This little owl is perched on top of Jack O'Lantern.

Made from various materials....old wool, old buttons, osnaburg, weavers cloth, flax, and twine. 

They are sewn together for a total height of 14" tall and 8" wide.

Base of pumpkin is slightly weighted for better stability.

This is an original Rabbit Hill design, and will be signed and dated.

This pumpkin-head fellow found a large sunflower to give to his sweetheart.

 He is 21" from the top of his twig stem to his black little shoes.

The first doll is a standing doll. She has a gusseted weighted bottom. She is 11" tall from the top of her twig stem.

Dressed in a very primitive brown flannel dress with a wool shawl drapped around her shoulders to keep the chill off while she collects her bounty.
