Vintage Velvet Acorns Pin Cushions

While in Lancaster this summer, I found a small bit of lovely vintage brown velvet.  Always a delight to find old velvet!

I'm so pleased with these acorns. (see also the pretty acorn make-do listed this evening) 

The acorn caps are made from wool and filled with clean sawdust.

These pin keepers measure 6" long not counting the twig stem and are 4" wide.  Each comes with a few old pins.

Vintage Velvet Make-do {SOLD}

This make-do pincushion is made from a lovely vintage brown velvet and brown striped wool.

It is filled mostly with clean sawdust.

The base is an old glass candle stick.

It measures a little over 8" tall and is 3" wide.
