 Dressed in blue homepun with a red scarf.

His face has beaded eyes, stitched mouth, and a clay-molded nose.

He is holding a little punched tin star.

~Olde St. Nick~

St. Nick is on a wooden stand, and is 14" tall (not counting the star).

Dressed in a linen shirt, brown bumpy stripped pants, and a brown hat with an early homespun patch, and a rusty bell at the tip.

 His eyes are stitched with old fabric. He has a pinched nose, and needlefelted wool whiskers which came from a local farm.

His little lamb is made from old wool, with a needlefelted wool coat (same local farm).

  He is holding a twig staff with a star on top made from early quilt batting and rusty wire. 

Lots of little details!

This little bear's body is made from a pretty Depression Era feed sack. 

He has old shoe button eyes and a stitched nose. 

Early blues for necktie adorned with a vintage blue Christmas ball.

String jointed arms and legs. He is 11 1/2" long (8 1/2" sitting).  Slightly weighted with walnut hulls.  Made with lots of love.

June Update

~Blue Tea Time Bunting~  THIS IS SOLD THANK YOU!

Made from early and vintage fabrics.  

Span of just the 3 tea samplers from fabric to fabric is 22".  There is 14" of trim left on each side for an approximate total length of 50".  I left the ends untied so that you can tie to fit your space.

Smaller teacup squares are 5 1/2" squares.

 Larger teapot center square is 7"

Lots and lots of handstitching in this piece.

This is a one of a kind.  It is an original design and will be signed and dated.

Little Farm Mice ~ "Gertrude" and "Lucy"

Both of these ladies have french knotted eyes, flax whiskers, and ears lined with old tan velvet.

They are approximately 6" tall.  

Lucy is wearing a green calico dress with a natural color hand knitted shawl with early bone button closure.

She is holding her spade and ready to work the fields!

Gertrude is dressed in a brown calico frock with hints of blue and mustard.  Her hand-knitted blue shawl also has a early bone button closure.

 She is ready to water all the little herbs in her garden with her rusty looking watering can!

Spring Goods for June!

Tonight I have a few offerings for you for that I hope you will like :)

DAISY PINCUSHION IS SOLD ~ THANK YOU!

My first offering is this flower pincushion.  It is made entirely from early and vintage fabric bits and pieces (except for the twine flower stem).  I always called these quilt paintings and they are one of my very favorite things to make.  This one measures 5 1/2" by 6".  The flower petals are different blue fabrics and there are different little stitches here and there.  Comes with a few old pins shown.

This is an original design and is signed by me.

 This pencil faced doll is dressed in old blues. Her body is filled with rags and extremities are filled with cotton.  She is 15 1/2" long.  She has such a nice, old worn feel about her.

Next I have this little keepsake box set.  The box is covered in brown antique repro. calico and is very worn looking.  Sitting on top is a wool strawberry with a twig stem.  It is filled with lavender.

Box is 2" tall and 4" wide.  Strawberry (not counting stem) is 3 1/2" long.

  Lastly I have a humble little bear.  With his shoe button eyes and simple stitched nose, and cockeyed ears, he really has a sweet humble look about him.

 Both his arms and legs are string-jointed.  He is made like an old style bear with long arms and hump back.  Early fabric is tied around his neck.  Slightly weighted and sits 9" tall.

An original design and is signed.

Humble Bear ~ SOLD

 Sweet faced bear with a stitched nose and early shoe button eyes.

Arms and legs are both string jointed.

 

She has a rusty bell tied around her neck.

Bears cushion is a 7" square.  This is filled with clean sawdust and can be used as a pincushion.

One side is made from brown checked homespun with an early bone button in center.

All seams are stitched over with brown floss in little "x's".

 The other side is an vintage quilt square with a rose in the center.

She is slightly weighed for a lovely feel.  9 1/2" tall standing and almost 7" tall in seated position.

One of a kind, she will be signed and dated.

Olde Brown Bear ~ SOLD~

I can't believe it's the first of June and school will be over next week!  This month I've only this one offering (below).  I've just finished a spring show with my friend at her shop and am now preparing my last update on Rabbit Hill Primitives for summer.  It's a big one and will feature some nice garden and Americana primitives.  I'll be updating this site for July but will be off for the rest of that month working on Fall and Christmas ideas.

OLDE BROWN BEAR

This olde brown bear sits on his weighted bottom and is 8 1/2" tall.

  He is made for sitting only but his arms are pose-able to hold something if you'd like.
