Happy May Day!! I have four pieces to offer you today and they are all about the blues this month.
This piece was inspired by my favorite wildflower...violets. They are blooming everywhere!! It seems to be a good year for them.
This sewing keep is covered in a green homespun linen type fabric. On top of the box are a bouquet of violets hand-stitched on an aged piece of osnaburg. With old batting sandwiched between, I stitched this to the box. Added to the top are a few pretty vintage hatpins.
The inside lid is lined with aged paper with a sweet poem about violets.
Tucked inside is a blue strawberry scissors fob made from the best old velvet and vintage green wool. The scissors are old also! I've also thrown in an old thimble and a handful of buttons.
This piece measures 5 by 3 1/2 and is almost 3" tall. It is a "one of a kind" original by Rabbit Hill Primitives.
